1st Annual Pet Parade and Chili Cookoff, a Spectacular Event

The 1st Annual Pet Parade and Chili Cookoff was a huge success! With 200 attendees, 77 pets, and 6 chili contestants, PAWS of Coronado raised over $20,000!  It was a fun time, and we have already booked the site for our 2nd and 3rd annual event! Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Pet Parade and Chili Cookoff on September 22, 2013.

Sasha & Robbie were huge hits strolling on leashes. The cats took turns being walked in our pet strollers by our stroller volunteers, and in between they played in our cat cabanas. Garfield the kitten was adopted at the event.

Boone entered one of the sections of the pet parade while Andy & Zorro played meet & greet with the crowd.

The competition was tough and spicy!  Congrats to our 1st place winner Dog Gone Good Chili, It’s a Cat’s Meow!, 2nd place winner Ascent Real Estate, and 3rd place winner Lee Mather Co. Realty.

Many thanks to the City of Coronado and the Coronado Real Estate Association for their sponsorships, all of our amazing volunteers, and a special thanks to Carolyn Haines who was driving force behind this tremendous event.

Hope to see you next year!
