Fitz: A Dog Adopted
Fitz is an all-around nice dog who came to us as a stray and wasn’t with us very long.
His picture on the website caught the eye of a nice lady. She came in to see Fitz and his gentle demeanor won her over. Her husband came in the next day to meet him and to make sure that their little ten month daughter would not be allergic to Fitz. The husband ran his hands all over Fitz and then rubbed his hands on the arms, legs and cheeks of the daughter. We did the home visit and agreed that, if there was no reaction, Fitz would go with them the next morning. With no obvious reaction, Fitz went to his new home.
Mom says Fitz and Capone, the family cat, are working it out. Fitz loves his yard. He let the Golden Retriever next door know that he has arrived and is keeping an eye on him. When Mom called Fitz away from the fence, he came right to her, but looked back at the Golden as if to say, “It’s a good thing for you that my Mom called me.” We are certain that they will be fast friends before too long, though. Fitz is that kind of a guy.
Thank you to the dog walkers, ACF staff and media team for taking care of Fitz and making this adoption happen.
