October Member Spotlight
Meet Corinne Mitchell – Director of Media, Cat Adoption Team, and Recipient of the 2012 Golden Paw Award

Each month we will feature a member to find out more about their story and involvement with PAWS.
How did you initially get involved with PAWS?
I started out with PAWS in April 2011 by volunteering for the Cat Petting Program. In June I was asked to join the Cat Adoption Team as a cat adoption counselor. In 2012, I designed and launched the new website and was asked to be the Director of the Media Team.
What is your favorite thing so far about working with PAWS?
Working with a community of like-minded people that are open-minded and willing to be progressive in order to help save lives.
What do you like to do in your free time?
What free time? In the big picture my husband Bob and I travel to Kanab, UT every six to eight weeks to volunteer at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. We have been doing this for about five years and have developed some wonderful friendships – both human & feline! On a daily basis, I love being outdoors and spend a lot of time outside walking and biking. Indoors, I like to find new recipes and try them – I love to cook and have people experience and enjoy new foods.
Do you have famous words that you live by? And what are they?
I actually have two favorites: “Preparation meets opportunity” & ”Life’s a banquet and most poor suckers are starving” Both are about living life to its fullest, being fulfilled in all that you do and giving the most you can.
If you won one million dollars, how would you spend it?
I would start a Bed & Happy Hour Cat Sanctuary where people could come stay and help with the cats and in the early evenings we would gather for appetizers and drinks. They could choose cats to stay overnight with them in their guest rooms – to let them get to know the cats better and to let the cats experience living with people and get a break from cat dormitory living.
