UPDATE: 09/06/12

Pearl and her puppies arrived at the ACF last week after saying goodbye to their wonderful foster family. All three puppies had reached the required weight and were old enough to be spayed.

And so yesterday, Pearl and her three daughters were spayed by Dr. Vera on the VetBus – talk about service!

All four canines are doing great after their surgery, although it is quite a sight to see the four lounging together with pet cones around their necks

Pearl the Chihuahua came to the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF) on July 3rd. When she came in, no one knew that she was pregnant.

So it was a big surprise when the kennel attendant arrived the next morning and saw three wriggling balls of fur nestled up against Pearl.

We think all the fireworks going off at once perhaps induced her and out popped the three little puppies.

Pearl has proved herself to be an excellent mom, extremely attentive and loving. In fact she had a hard time leaving them even long enough to go into the yard to go to the bathroom.

The pups are a little over 6 weeks old now. And their foster mom says they are constantly moving:-)
