The new school year is just around the corner and although our kids, or even yourself,  may be dreading to hit the books, have you considered adopting a cat as your new study buddy?

Petting a cat has been known to be a stress reliever and while you’re studying for your exam, you can take a break and play with your cat or even pet your cat while you’re studying.

Cats will also make great listeners if you need to rehearse lines for a play or even if you want to read out loud to them.  A feline study buddy will give you comfort and moral support when you have anxiety for a big test that is coming up.

It is shown that when first time college students are away from home, a cat helps them avoid loneliness and cope with being away from home. It’s nice to know that they rely on their cat more often as a companion than just seeing their cat as a “pet.”

So while preparing to head back to school, why not adopt a new feline companion to help you, or your children, study!
