Winter, Our Handsome Fellow

Handsome WinterWinter is our handsome, 5 month old Maine Coon kitten. He is the son of Cider and the brother to his sweet sister, Coco. Winter and Coco were both surprises to the good Samaritans who were feeding their mom.

Though they could not take the cats in for thier own- for they already had indoor cats- the nice family helped Cider with her kittens until they were weaned and were ready for a home of their own. The nice family brought all three cats to the ACF.

Winter’s name suites him very well for he is all white with a small hint of blue on the top of his head. The three also make a great family unit together. Cider and Winter are protective of Coco, for she is a little shy.

Winter is very playful and is gaining confidence everyday; he is learning to love interactions with people. He is a very sweet kitten who needs a cat savvy adopter who would be willing to continue the socialization process.

You can meet Winter at the ACF (Animal Care Facility) located at 1395 First Street in Coronado with hours of operation between 9:00 am to 4:00 pm everyday but major holidays. If you would like to visit some of the Friendliest Paws in all of San Diego, you can also visit our websites, pawsofcoronado.org and petfinder.com. All our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and current on their immunizations prior to their adoption.

Luigi, A Kitten for Adoption

Luigi relaxing Luigi is a male kitten, born early July 2012. He’s a black Tabby with so much love to give, his name came easily. At three weeks old, he was found all alone at a Pizza Parlor on the Coronado Navy Base, where he immediately entered into his foster home.  This lover boy is easy company and enjoys the companionship of other kitties who welcome him into their home. Luigi gets along with respectful dogs and his foster moms report him to be so kissable, it’s hard to put him down.

He’s a great kitty who is a perfect house guest and keeps us in stitches with his cuteness. If getting kisses from your feline friends makes you smile ear to ear, he’s the boy for the job.  Luigi is passionate about his role to make you feel loved. Our goal is to adopt him straight from his foster family to yours. His foster moms will accommodate any interest in meeting him.

To see and read about other animals needing homes, please view our websites: pawsofcoronado.org and petfinder.com. All our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and current on their immunizations prior to their adoption. With school back in session, consider adding a pet to your home to act as a Study Buddy to keep the children company while they do their homework assignments.  The stress of test taking can be greatly reduced having a furry friend to encourage one to persevere.

PAWS First Cat Stroller Parade

Alexandria and EdieSleeping SiblingsLittle girls looking at the kittensPlayful SiblingsLast weekend, PAWS held their first Cat Stroller Parade. We started off at the ACF with kittens in tow and walked all the way down Orange Ave. to Speckles Park. Meowing all the way there, we got Oohs and Ahhs  that we even caught the attention of tourists and they stopped us and took our pictures, for they have never seen a cat stroller before.

Once we arrived at Speckles Park, we were a hit with all the little ones. They came up to us excited to see all of our kittens, even our sleepy heads Adella, Sophie, and Sylvester. The Cuddly Five- Starlight, Lilly, Boo, Midnight and Mojo- had a fun time in the kitten cabana playing with each other and their toys, while Pippa, Henry, and Dougal had their first taste of being outdoors for the first time! Miss Snow White was as beautiful as can be in her pink carrier as she brought a lot of attention to her unique colored eyes and plush soft fur.

Although none of our kittens got adopted at our mini event, we still got a lot of attention and were able to hand out cards and pamphlets to people who were curious about our kittens. With future cat stroller events, we will be able to get the word out there about our adoptables available at PAWS. Overall, our parade was a success! Hope to see you at our next parade!

Our newest batch of kittens are Boo, Mojo, Midnight, Lily and Starlight. They were born May 22, 2012 and are a cuddly bunch that were raised in foster care and are very familiar with a loving human touch. They relax to our gentleness and caress us in return with their purrs and lazy eyelids. To have them in pairs would be a treat for they have a special bond and growing up with a sibling will keep them company while you’re away for the day. Stop by the ACF and see which little love bug you want to take home!

Our cuddly litter and our other adoptables are taking visitors at the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF) on 1395 First Street with hours of operation between 9am – 4pm, every day but major holidays. To see and read about other animals needing homes, please view our websites: pawsofcoronado.org and petfinder.com.
