Powder, Our Pet of the Week!

Powder's eyesPowder is our 4 year old, all white male Domestic Short Hair cat with crystal clear blue eyes and a pink nose. His story is one of so many other animals left behind by their owners. This beautiful kitty and his sister, Donut, wondered, “Where did everybody go?”. The moving vans pulled away, and they were all alone, left to fend for themselves.

After a time, new people inhabited their previous home and had discovered these two cats roaming their yard, crying at the door.  Neighbors helped the new home owners by telling them what had happened to these poor cats and that finding them a new family would be the next step.

Powder is super affectionate with a loving purr, and being such a gracious guy, he will make biscuits for you.  He rolls and nuzzles when you pet him, gently patting your hand to encourage you to continue.  Still playful, he makes good use of the toys provided, a favorite being catnip.  Right now, he is still unsure around other felines that he doesn’t know, but his love for people is strong, and he will make someone a faithful and gentle companion.  Once you meet him, you’ll see what a kind heart he has.

Powder is taking visitors at the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF), located at 1395 First Street in Coronado with hours of operation between 9 AM and 4 PM every day but major holidays. If you would like to visit some of the Friendliest Paws in all of San Diego, you can visit our websites, pawsofcoronado.org and petfinder.com. All our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and current on their immunizations prior to their adoption.

Lotus: PAWS Pet of the Week

Lotus, a dog for adoption
Lotus, a female Chinese Crested,  is a delightful senior lady: 10 years old and 18 pounds.    Radiating style and poise, she is very gentle, sweet and totally lovable.   She came in with her long time pal, Yodie, a Chihuahua, when their owner passed away.  Lotus is definitely good with other dogs and does not seem to be to phased by the cats in the Animal Care Facility.  If you are looking for a loyal and dedicated companion, this girl fits the bill.
Lotus needs to be protected from both hot and cold weather, as well as prolonged exposure to the sun.  A little sunscreen will do the trick on a sunny day; Lotus likes her walks.  Chinese Cresteds sheds very little and would be ideally suited for anyone suffering from allergies.   Since sweaters are recommended for this breed in the winter, we can see this girl accumulating a couture collection!  Come see for yourself how Lotus can complete any household.
You can meet Lotus and other dogs and cats available for adoption at the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF) on 1395 First Street.  Hours of operation are 9am – 4pm, every day but major holidays.  To see and read about other animals needing homes, please view our websites: pawsofcoronado.org and petfinder.com.   All our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and current on their immunizations prior to their adoption.

Freeway: A Dog for Adoption

Freeway a PAWS dog for adoption

Freeway is a Long-haired Chihuahua that was found on the Coronado Bridge during rush hour.  He weighs just over three pounds and is about one and a half years old.  He is getting acclimated to his new surroundings, but he is still a bit shy and reserved.  Freeway is a gentle soul that loves to be held.  His eyes look into yours and he seems to say, “I have had a rough time of it”.

Freeway needs a quiet home, preferably without young children.  Come take a look at this little man and give him the chance that he needs for a new beginning.

You can meet Freeway and other dogs and cats available for adoption at the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF) on 1395 First Street.  Hours of operation are 9am – 4pm, every day but major holidays.  To see and read about other animals needing homes, please view our websites: pawsofcoronado.org and petfinder.com.   All our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and current on their immunizations prior to their adoption.

Monty, Our Pet of the Week!

Monty sittingMonty is our Pet of the Week! Our Monty is a male domestic medium hair (DMH) black cat. He is estimated to be about 10 months old and was found as a stray. He was a little shy with the other cats in the cat community room at first, watching carefully from his cat tree. Now he is out and about and very friendly with everyone. His bright yellow eyes will lure you in to give him more pets and belly rubs. He pours on the charm and is very affectionate and loving.  Being so young, he still has the playfulness of a kitten without the excess energy.

Monty is a wonderful cat that is very charming and affectionate with a gentle soul. He adapts well to new environments and can’t wait to find a loving family to give him the love and attention he deserves. Is Monty a purrfect match for you?

You can meet other dogs and cats available for adoption at the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF) on 1395 First Street. Hours of operation are 9am – 4pm, every day but major holidays. The stress of test taking can be greatly reduced having a furry friend to encourage one to persevere, knowing their biggest fan is right beside them.

Blaze: PAWS Pet of the Week

Blaze a paws of coronado puppy for adoption

Blaze is a male Pit Bull Terrier variety, born early May 2012. This youngster is light tan and white and weighs 35 pounds. Because of his size and energy, he would be best suited to a household with older children.

Blaze’s enthusiasm for learning is impressive.  He walks well on the leash and has proven to be very smart, picking up basic commands with ease.   His eager little face is very expressive, letting you know when he’s trying to figure something out and needing clarification.

He’s a bundle of love that doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.   Blaze really is a joy to be around, a boy with a big heart ready to give lots of love to his family.

You can meet Blaze and other dogs and cats available for adoption at the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF) on 1395 First Street.  Hours of operation are 9am – 4pm, every day but major holidays.  To see and read about other animals needing homes, please view our websites: pawsofcoronado.org and petfinder.com.   All our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and current on their immunizations prior to their adoption.
