Claire, A Cat Adopted

claire a fawn tabby cat for adoption is regalA gentleman and his wife, who are local, would frequently walk by the ACF to look at the cats through the windows. During one of their walks, Miss Claire caught their attention- she is a big cat, after all.

They would come back again and again to “visit” Claire through the window. The gentleman finally decided it was time and meet with Claire in person and was immediately smitten by her charm. He later filled out an application, leaving it to be reviewed.

One of our CAT members received the application, had an in depth discussion with the gentleman, and the next step was to have his wife meet Claire in person. The gentleman’s wife came in to visit Claire the next day and she too fell under Claire’s spell.

When all was said and done, their application was approved and Claire was able to go to her forever home!

Thank you to all of the volunteers, the cat petters and cat strollers, and the ACF Staff, who took care of Claire during her stay! It’s always wonderful whenever one of our cats finds a forever home!

Garfield, A Cat Adopted!

Baby Garfield now named DiegoIf you remember Garfield at our 1st Annual Pet Parade back in October, you were blessed to have met a sweet kitten. He was adopted before the event ended by a loving family who were vacationing in Coronado.

Noticing that Garfield was a cuddler, the woman fell in love with him immediately! But there was a problem, it was their last day on vacation and their 6:15pm flight to San Francisco.  The husband and wife called their airline to see if they could book a flight for Garfield and one of our Cat Adoption Team Member called Wag n Tails to see if they had an airline approved carrier- They had 1 left. Downtown Coronado was busy as ever because of the holiday and they were trying to find a parking space. Just by chance, a car pulled out of parking right in front of the store- it was like another sign that Garfield was meant to go home with this loving family! Read the rest of this entry »

Bing, A Cat Adopted!

Bing being cuteBing was found as a stray with her kittens, Toby, Tanner, and Thomas, around the 900 block of Glorietta. Her kittens were able to go to a foster home til they were old enough to be neutered and to heal from their surgery and Bing was brought to the ACF to get spayed and updated shots.

Since then, her 3 handsome kittens have been adopted and Miss Bing was adopted immediately after her release from quarantine! Bing’s new human mother is a local celebrity who is very well known, but would like to remain anonymous.

Bing is going to a loving home and will bring so much joy to her new family during this holiday season!

Though she wasn’t with us for long, we would like to thank the ACF Staff and all of the volunteers who helped take care of Bing during her stay.

An Update on Robbie, a Cat Adopted

Handsome Robbie

Robbie’s adoption was the result of how powerful the media truly is. He had his television debut on the KUSI Morning News during their pet segment and with his charm, he caught someone’s eye! They phoned in to see if Robbie was still available- He was!

They came in, papers were signed, and Robbie now lives on a catamaran with his bulldog sister, Cloey. Robbie also loves his new human brothers so much, he plays with them til he gets tuckered out and snuggles up with Mom right before bed. Robbie now goes by his new name, Max, that his human siblings gave to him. He loves playing with his new sister that here is a picture of Max playing ball with Cloey!

A big thank you to the ACF Staff, the cat petters and walkers, and the media team for giving so much love to Robbie during his stay!

Ali, A Kitten Adopted!

Ali lap catAli’s adopted sibling, Sophie, was abandoned on a couple’s doorstep and luckily for Sophie, the couple fell in love with her right away. They took her to the vet to make sure she was okay and to see if she were microchipped. Sophie was, but the microchip company wouldn’t let the couple change the information unless they had the permission from Sophie’s original owner or the Coronado ACF, so the husband got hold of the ACF and told them they wanted to keep Sophie!

While at the ACF, the couple wanted to get a companion for their newly adopted kitten. They were introduced to all of the kittens in the Get Acquainted Room and they both loved all the kittens, but the wife was immediately drawn to Ali, our grey and white kitten. They got to know Ali by petting and playing with her for a while and decided to think things through over lunch. The couple wanted to make sure they wanted a second kitten and which one of the kittens they wanted to take home.

When the couple came back to the ACF, they knew for sure that Ali was the purrfect kitten for them and Sophie! Both Ali and Sophie have a very happy ending! Their new adopted Father works from home, so both Ali and Sophie will receive so much love and attention in their new forever home!

Thank you to the ACF Staff and all of the volunteers who helped take care of Ali during her stay.
